DIVIDE AND YOU WILL CONQUER!

Stem cells produce fundamental parts of our blood like erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets. They are very important because they are part of our immune system, who works to defend us of illnesses.

This cells have capacity to turn on 220 kinds of human cells, replace others functions and repairs sick cells. These functions are center of stem cell’s importance and for this reason emerging research and scientific practices where diseased tissues and organs can be cured in a natural and an effective way. This treatment is the birth of a new era for regenerative medicine.

For example in the case of heart disease, stem cells can train in order to form heart muscle cells. In some laboratories are joined this kind of cells in sheets and its bits in impressive precision.

However there is a risk. Manipulated cells can become to specialized cells in other kind of cell to an end, for example a bone tissue instead of cardiac muscle.

Nowadays umbilical cord blood transplants are an effective practice because blood contains cells as erythrocytes that have to carry oxygenated blood to tissues and white blood cells for combating diseases type. The importance of this treatment is unlike a blood transfusion which transferred cells will die in a few months bone marrow or cord stem cells can come on bones and stay there generating fresh blood cells all lifelong.

For me this theme is very interesting and controversial too in political, moral and religious field; however is a significant advance in medicine and a huge door to a great potential for improving and save people life.
